My very own toe up sock!

I'm celebrating my recovery from a horrid 3 weeks of 24-7 restless leg syndrome by knitting some Toe up socks. I used the turkish Cast on (c.o. 24 sts. --less would have been better, a little on the big side) and am using 2 circulars. I am using Hellchick's pattern http://www.hellchick.net/. It's a great basic pattern that you can personalize. The yarn is knitpicks "Dancing" (I forget the exact color) but am not crazy about the color mixture--yellow, orange and red-- uhggg. I love the that it is a cotton yarn with a little nylon mixed in~~I will definitely buy more of the "Dancing" but in a different color. Posted by Picasa

I love knitting toe up socks and getting the fit "just right". Are you planning a traditional or short row heel? Looks great so far--best of luck!

amanda I finished my sock. I loved the turkish cast on--very smooth toe and instep fit nicely---but the heel (short row/long row was a bear!! I had holes I could drive a mac truck through! I followed the doulble wrapping instructions but still had trouble. I would love to do more toe up--just awesome possibilities--but until I find a better short row technique I'm going cuff down!

I want to try the toe up socks too. I printed this pattern to give it a try.

Hi Rowan! Thanks for visiting and thanks for the nice compliments!

Pretty socks! Have you tried Priscilla Gibson Roberts yarn over short row heel? It's what I use.

Here's some short row resources for you:

Love your paintings, especially that moon!
